So, your best friend is getting married, and you’ve been chosen to be the maid of honor! Exciting times, and first of all CONGRATS. But… We can imagine this can give you added stress.
No worries girl, we’ve got you. We’ve compiled 3 key steps to planning the perfect bachelorette bash for your girl and her posey! (Yes, it’s as easy as 1,2,3).
1. Have a 1-on-1 with the bride
To make sure you are absolutely on top of the party planning, you need to have a sit down with the bride-to-be, it is her special day after all.
Plan a cute coffee date in a cozy café and have a conversation about her “wants”.
Make sure to have a list of questions ready to go over. To make your life a little easier we’ve listed a few questions below:
- Has she always dreamed of having a destination bachelorette party?
- Is there a specific theme she had in mind?
- Are there any “no-go” rules (think strippers or male dancers)?
- Would she want a weekend/week getaway or just a one-night soiree?
- Who would she want to invite (and specifically, who does she not want there)?
With all this information you can calculate a budget for the party and discuss this with the other bridesmaids.
2. Divide and conquer
Now that you’ve established what exactly the bride wants for her bachelorette party, and have everyone on board with the budget, you can start the fun part!
While, as the MOH, you are in charge of planning the occasion, we highly recommend dividing the tasks between 2 or 3 of the other (reliable) bridesmaids.
This way you can cover more ground and keep the experience enjoyable for all parties involved… no need for added stress!
To help you along the way we’ve listed some of the important things that need to be arranged:
- Booking the transportation and accommodation (TIP: booking an Airbnb can be cheaper and more fun than a hotel)
- Booking the activities – Think of a wine tasting, full-out party, a nice dinner, a laid-back arts & crafts workshop
- Sending out the official invitations – A fun idea is to incorporate the party theme in the invite
- Buying the (themed) decorations
- Arranging entertainment – Think of board games & drinking games and music
3. Triple check
The invites have been sent, the food and drinks are arranged, and the accommodations are booked.
But, just to make sure everything is ready to go, we recommend making a round of calls 2 weeks before the party to ensure that everyone you hired is also on top of it (and to give you time for troubleshooting, in case needed).
And finally, because you’re so detail-oriented, now is also the time to buy some cute party favors that the guests can take home.
Think of something like personalized reusable drinking cups, this can be super cute. People love personalized stuff AND you’re being conscious of the environment (win-win)!
With these 3 tips, we are sure you will have everything planned to perfection. After that, it’s time to sit back, relax and have fun with the gals!
